The Miljo Mafia - coffee mug art
The Miljo was a drive-in restaurant in Wilmington, NC. Opened April 1955 by Mildred and Joe Hines. This cup commemorates the fun times had in the 50's & 60's growing up in Wilmington. Students from New Hanover High School at some time or another would hang out here with their dates or friends. Literally, Wilmington's "American Graffitti". The Miljo Mafia was a label that local law enforcement placed on those "burning rubber" out of the Miljo parking lot. It was a badge of honor to be able, in later years, to brag about being a member of the Miljo Mafia.
